Year 26, Day 174
Warmth.
Today was departure day for me.
After a day of work, I would be boarding a plane that would send me back to my hometown, the town I spent the better part of my life in. A town that is in the great state of Texas.
I don’t care what people say about the place but I’m one of those people that will vigorously defend this state, as a part of the union or as its own republic, to the death.
Anyways, BFF Sindy drove me to the airport out of her sheer goodwill. She surprised me with the card seen above and what can I say, that chick had me weeping on the inside. I’m easily touched by the unexpected show of affection and warmth and I can recognize when I’m being loved. In the short card ride to the airport and pretty much through this year, I felt loved, especially from Sindy.
The bulk of the night saw me troll the airport, board a plane, buy a wifi connection on board, iMessage and communicate with people and brag about me using wifi on an airplane, and then landing.
There’s no need for me to express how nostalgic I was to return to Houston. I lived here when there weren’t that many Starbucks, Panda Expresses, and Panera Breads to be had. I haven’t been here in 14 months. I considered this place my life boat when I was sinking in the waters of joblessness. I have so much to give about this place.
My mom and dad picked me up and I was back under their rule for the moment. Right when I got there, I felt like a teen again and them the overbearing parents. I guess I’ll always be their baby child even though I’m 26 and all I want to do is drink and hit on women constantly.
I think this is fine.
Also, my mom expects me to eat everything they have in the house. Talk about overbearing…

My friend’s blog. Love it
